Our Unique Approach

Your experience at THE HIVE may not be like what you've experienced with other chiropractors or physical therapists.

We do not only focus our assessment on the area of pain. Pain is complex and usually involves more than just the spot you’re pointing to.

That’s why we look at different aspects of your physical ability, using objective outcomes, to identify what hurts AND why it hurts.

We do not only provide hands-on therapy as part of treatment. Hands-on treatment can make us feel good, but it is a quick fix to make pain go away without changing why it hurts.

Instead, we combine manual therapy with progressive rehab and exercise to work on improving why the pain started in the first place.

We do not send you home with the same standard exercises as other clients. We are not all the same and neither is the cause of our pain, so it doesn’t make sense that your rehab plan would be the same either.

Instead, we consider your rehabilitation needs as part of your larger performance training plan, creating unique programs that challenge you to improve pain and performance simultaneously, making you feel like an athlete even when you’re injured.

Most importantly, we do not rush you in and out of your appointments, treating you just like any other person who walks in the door. We’ve all had experiences where we do not feel seen or cared for by the doctor, the feeling like we’re just another appointment they need to get through.

That’s why we take time to get to you know you – your health, your lifestyle, your goals. You are more than just your injury, so we want to understand more than just how your pain is progressing. You can expect us to connect with you outside of scheduled treatment times, building a sense of teamwork and community, keeping you accountable and motivated towards achieving your goals.

Did You Know?

As an athlete, the demand on your body is much greater than a ‘regular’ person who is just walking or sitting around. So, why would your rehab and training be the same? Finding long-term solutions for your injuries takes time and a consistent commitment to create lasting improvements. Our approach uses hands-on therapy for short-term pain management and focuses on building a strong foundation through progressive rehab principles in combination with functional and sport-specific movements. We want to maximize all opportunities for recovery and performance, that’s why we look at you as a person, not just an athlete, getting you to consider other lifestyle factors that can support you in reaching your goal.

Most people believe that recovery ends when the pain goes away but addressing the cause of pain and reducing the risk of future injury requires a plan that improves how you move and builds the strength required to perform your sport. We realize that sometimes you need to take a step backwards to come back better and stronger. So, although it may be a longer road, we believe that a commitment to consistency in training, mindset and lifestyle gives us the power to change, become more resilient and achieve our goals.

We know it can feel frustrating and isolating when pain stops you from playing your best and feeling confident in yourself. That’s why we are here to understand YOU – not just your pain! We want you to feel heard and supported through your recovery and performance training so you can feel confident, strong and powerful when returning to your game.
